The Foundation for Rural Education Excellence

Supporting Academic Achievement in Rural Northeast Florida Communities

Since it was founded in 1998, The Foundation for Rural Education Excellence, a registered 501 (C)(3) organization, has supported the rural school districts of the North East Florida Educational Consortium (NEFEC): Baker, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Nassau, Putnam, Suwannee and Union Counties as well as Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind and PK Yonge Developmental Research School.

With declining funding and increased state and federal mandates for public education, The Foundation is a vital funding source for child-focused best practice programs for students.

Our Mission

Enhance academic success and career opportunities for rural students in northeast Florida.

How The Foundation Makes a Difference

Your Support Helps Rural Students Succeed

Already, funded programs like the NEFEC Reading Initiative and Florida Students Understanding Math & Science have improved reading, science and math scores of our rural students dramatically.

But more is needed.

Shrinking state budgets, rising costs and a lack of outside funding mean that your support is more critical now than ever.

Join us, and make a difference in the lives of rural students.
